Cisco VG200 VoIP Gateway

Cisco VG200 VoIP Gateway

Voice over IP gateway VG200 was specially created for Cisco AVVID (Architecture for Voice, Video and Integrated Data) Call Manager. This device was not meant to support add-ons, such as toll bypass using H.323 protocol or SIP gateways.

This device belongs to a new generation of devices converting voice into data packets for computer networks, ensuring full compatibility and additional features at an affordable cost using all the advantages of Cisco AVVID architecture.

It is used for connection between IP telephony and traditional trunking or analog devices. These telephone trunks may be connected to a public switched telephone network (PSTN) or existing public telephone system (PBX). If we consider the Cisco VG200 in terms of data transmission network, the gateway is equipped with automatically adjusted 10/100 Ethernet port. Cisco VG200 contains a digital signal processor (DSP), which converts the analog and digital voice into IP packets for transmission over an IP network using standard coders / decoders, such as G.711, G.723.1, G.729 (a), and others.

Cisco VG200 Gateways provide cost effective solutions that meet the requirements of new generation of phones.
