However as a conference controller one should give that certain number to all the participants and set the time for conference in order for the participants to be able to set up a successful conference.
The function of the private line eliminates the possibility of someone other than you reviewing your call details, from phone sets, which have the shared extension, additionally no one can monitor your call or connect to you call.
