The Mediant 800 MSBG is a multi service-business gateway, which was designed to provide converged Data and Voice services for small and medium sized business customers. This device is based on AudioCodes’VolPerfectHD the best there is media gateway technology, with a variety of integrated communication functions into a unified platform supporting basic services, such as Data Routing, VoIP mediation, Voice & Data security, WAN access, survivability and third party service applications. Those services allow connecting to cloud services.

As other products of Median family, MSBG solution has extended possibilities for processing and routing of IP traffic. This makes it an effective platform, allowing reaching high quality of optimization and security of corporate communications. Due to its module architecture media gateway is able to integrate into traditional networks via digital E1/T1 channels, BRI and analog FXS and FXO lines. Built-in IP router ensures static and dynamic routing of IP traffic between internal local and external networks.
Multifunctional gateway Mediant 800 MSBG is available in several modifications, meant for making various tasks. Models vary by type and amount of voice channels: E1/T1/J1 trunk PRI or up to 4 BRI (8calls 2B+D) or up to 12 FXS/FXO lines. Network interfaces of different models also vary: WAN interface 1000Base-T, T1DSU/CSU or SHDSL and LAN ports: up to 4 10/100/1000 Base-T or up to 8 10/100 Base-TX with PoE (802.3af).

SDP Protocols Are Used To Transmit Media Session InformationIn 1998, the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) published the specification for a Session Description Protocol or SDP as a format that describes parameters for streaming media. The original IETF Proposed Standard was updated in 2006 as RFC 4566. Although the SDP was created as a feature of Session Announcement Protocol (SAP), it can be used with Real-time Transport Protocol, Real-time Streaming Protocol (RTSP), and Session Initiation Protocol, as well as a standalone protocol. Parameter negotiation, session announcement and session invitation are included in the descriptive sessions from the SDP protocol. Rather than transmit data like other types of protocols, an SDP negotiates between media type endpoints, format and properties involved. A session begins when a connection is established, and the session is terminated only after every endpoint is no longer participating.
