Media gateway Mediant 3000 is a compact solution oriented on communication operators. It supports from 480 up to 4032 voice channels on OC-3/STM interfaces. This media gateway is suited for applications of medium density, compatible with IP and ATM networks or unified IP/ATM networks.

Mediant 3000 supports many voice codec, standardized alarm and call control types, advanced echo cancellation technologies, transfer of FAX messages via T.38, and additionally it has integrated support system for signaling gateways under SIGTRAN specification.

Platform of Mediant 3000 media gateway has 2U height and requires minimum space in a rack. Mediant 3000 is in one line of VoIP Mediant wired gateways, which includes Mediant 2000, Mediant 5000 and Mediant 8000.

With the support of up to 2016 channels Mediant 3000 gateway provides an optimal capacity solution for the networks providers. The small size of the gateway is useful when placed in the central nodes (offices) with the lack of free space. In a basic configuration Mediant 3000 supports standard interfaces, PSTN, IP and ATM. In subsequent versions of the Mediant 3000 gateway is equipped with redundancy 1 +1 for support of 2016 reserved voice channels.
