Google Voice Compatibility — Benefits and Disadvantages

Google Voice Compatibility — Benefits and Disadvantages

Google Voice is a phone service provided by the makers of Gmail. It is an extremely well priced and competitive phone service that has VoIP rates which are literally pennies. In fact, if you are in the USA then calls are completely free throughout North America. The service also offers a number of other perks, such as voice transcription, conference calls, SMS to email, voicemail and even voicemail message to email services.

What hardware does it work with?
You might be wondering what is Google Talk. This program can be installed on a variety of devices, PCs, Macs, smart phones and tablets mainly. The program will let you not only access your Gmail account, but it will also let you manage all your calls and voicemail directly from your email account. You can also chat with your clients by typing, call them on the phone or even call them free through the Google Talk program.
If you do have to pay for a call, then you should be aware that the VoIP rate is extremely cheap for much of the world.
Because the program has so many software applications and is compatible with so many hardware devices, it is probably one of the most competitive solutions for VoIP or SIP currently available.
Benefits and disadvantages
Most of the benefits of the Google Voice program are fully available in the United States. If you are living in the USA, there is very little reason to use anything else. All of the services will be available to you and you can call the USA and Canada for free any time.
The disadvantages are when you start calling internationally. There are other providers with similar or better rates. Furthermore, you cannot use the service to call emergency numbers so if you need this functionality then you should make a contract with a cellular or land-line provider instead.
