The UPS is backed up by a generator to provide unlimited power backup in the event of a mains power failure. The building is designed to ensure maximum security. Concrete poles, double-layer concrete walls and steel mesh protect against intrusion.Connectivity is "carrier neutral", with redundant connections from multiple providers, including Telecom, Vector Communications and TelstraClear. The data centre is connected via ATM and Fast Ethernet with connections directly to the Sky Tower, the Auckland Peering Exchange (APE) & Wellington Internet Exchange (WIX) and our upstream international providers, making ours one of the most well-connected data centres in New Zealand.
