Established in 1998, Citrus Telecom remains privately owned and funded by the founder directors. Citrus has held full Annex 2 status since February 2001 and has operated its own multi-exchange BT interconnect since November 2002.With offices in London and Bournemouth, Citrus operates a secure switching facility located within City Lifeline in East Central London. In addition to BT, Citrus has several other bi-directional interconnects with both Tier 1 Carriers and some of the largest IP providers in the industry. The concept that `voice` is a commodity service is now commonplace. Under the constant pressure of increasing competition and regulation, voice tariffs have plummeted and consequently, operating margins continue to fall. For many operators this dual decline threatens their entire business. The only route to success in this volatile market is to utilize modern technology and intelligently switch call traffic to maximize profit through periodical price fluctuations. Over the years poor connectivity has blighted the LCR industry and many businesses in the Corporate and SME markets are tempted back to BT to secure the quality required to operate a sensible business. Citrus has overcome these traditional weaknesses by investing in quality switching technology and an intelligently managed service. Only by investing in "world players" such as; Digitalk, Ericsson, Cisco, Quintum, Aculab and WTL can we secure our investment and maintain a resilient, flexible and long term infrastructure. We constantly monitor our Tier 1 carriers to ensure our customers are always on the best rates available but without compromising the call quality or connectivity. We appreciate in the B2B environment, call quality is as important as price. With "state of the art" digital switches and a complex IVR platform, we offer the opportunity for resellers to enter the communications market with a genuine One Stop Shop. The philosophy behind Citrus has always been to provide customers with the means to independently operate their own telecommunications business with the minimum of capital outlay whilst having access to the latest developments in this technology based market.
